Nature Clubs


MIMS College of Nursing NSS Unit started a roof top garden on 01.03.2019. This Venture was made successful with grant and support from Agriculture Office, Vazhayoor. A Totaal of 200 saplings were planted in the garden. NSS students(100 in Nos)were allotted the responsibility in maintenance and upkeep of the vegetable garden.Krishi Bhavan, Vazhayur provided us a subsidy of 1 Lakh rupees for constructing the Vegetable Graden on the second floor of the College Building.The Rooftop of the garden was constructed with polyurethene sheet for easy passage of sunlight and steel net covering on all four sides. Wick Irrigation was also included for better vegetable produce.High yielding plant saplings were procured. NSS Unit passed on the Maintenenance of the garden to Nature Club. Oragnic fertilizers and pesticides are used to produce healthy vegetables.The sale of vegetables is mainly through counters at administrative office wih a Designated faculty being the coordinator of the activities of the Nature Club.


The Nature Club of MIMS College of Nursing was innaugurated on March 29th 2019 at 2 PM by Dr. Assuma Beevi T M,Principal, MIMS College of Nursing. It was set up to create among the students an awareness about the importance of protecting our nature & encourage its members to be pro active towards sustainable development in their given milieu.A Committee was also formulated consisting of representatives from faculty, Non Teaching staff and students. The first phase of the activities of the Nature Club was Organic Gardening through cultivation of seasonal Vegetables. A dedicated group of 83 students prepared the site and planted seedlings and saplings of vegetables like Brinjal,Tomato,Green Chilly,Ladies Finger and Spinach in 188 grow bags porchsed from Krishi Bhavan under Vazhakad Panchayath.Students were also given the reponsibility to water the plants in the evening.

  • Ice breaking session
  • Drug sorting, publicity for medical camp, preparation of exhibits etc .various motivational sessions also been arranged for the volunteers
