Academics
About Department
The department of Clinical Biochemistry aim on
knowledge and analytical biochemical research in the identification,
quantitative and qualitative analysis of various biological macromolecules,
biomarkers and biological fluids such as blood, serum/plasma, urine, or tissues
for specific chemical constituents or physiological processes.
The paramedical course empasizes gaining
theoretical knowledge and basic practical skills required in biochemical
investigations, to support clinical diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of
various illnesses and health issues in the community.
The department consists of adequate teaching
and learning infrastructure such as equipped practical laboratory, research
laboratory, demonstration rooms, clinical laboratory and departmental library
with all standard reference books.
It mainly deals with the biochemical aspects,
playing a crucial role in the identification and monitoring of disease. The
results of qualitative and quantitative analysis of body fluids assist the
clinicians in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the disease , along
with drug monitoring, tissue and organ transplantation, forensic investigations
etc.
