About Department
The Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) is a professional
undergraduate programme designed to develop competent, ethical and
compassionate physiotherapists. The programme integrates basic medical
sciences, physiotherapy sciences, clinical education, research and
evidence-based practice. It prepares students to assess, diagnose, plan and
provide physiotherapy and rehabilitation for patients across different age
groups and clinical conditions.

Physiotherapy is a movement science concerned with the
prevention, restoration, rehabilitation, maintenance and promotion of optimal
physical function. Physiotherapists assess and manage movement dysfunction and
functional limitations arising from musculoskeletal, neurological,
cardiovascular, respiratory and other conditions. They work in healthcare
settings ranging from neonatal and paediatric care to geriatric care, critical
care, community health, fitness and sports.
