The Department of Cardiovascular Technology at MIMS College of Allied Health Sciences, affiliated with Kerala University of Health Sciences, stands at the forefront of cardiovascular education and training. We are dedicated to nurturing the next generation of cardiovascular technologists through a curriculum that seamlessly integrates rigorous academic instruction with extensive hands-on clinical experience.

The undergraduate program in Cardiovascular Technology is meticulously designed to provide a comprehensive blend of theoretical learning and practical training over three years, followed by a one-year compulsory rotational internship. Supervised by our seasoned clinical faculty, students gain in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in various specialties and sub-specialties of cardiology.

Specialized Training Includes:

• Adult and Pediatric Interventional Procedures: Training in advanced techniques for both adult and pediatric interventional cardiology.
• Electrophysiology: Comprehensive training in diagnosing and treating cardiac arrhythmias.
• Endovascular and Vascular Interventions: Skills in performing minimally invasive procedures for vascular disease treatment.

Advanced Labs and Technologies:

• Cardiac Physiology and Invasive Imaging Labs: Equipped with cutting-edge technologies such as Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR), Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), and Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), aiding in precision care for coronary artery disease.
• Non-Invasive Techniques: Extensive hands-on training in electrocardiography (ECG), exercise stress testing, Holter monitoring, and detailed echocardiographic assessments.

Clinical Experience: Throughout their studies, students rotate through various clinical settings, gaining exposure to real-world scenarios and patient care. This practical training is crucial for developing the skills necessary to excel as a cardiovascular technologist.

Post-Completion Competence: Upon successful completion of the three-year academic program and the one-year rotational internship, our graduates are well-prepared to work independently as cardiovascular technologists. They possess the knowledge, technical skills, and clinical experience required to deliver high-quality cardiovascular care.
