Department of Microbiology at MIMS College of Allied Health Sciences is a vital

It was established in the year 2006 under the guidance of MIMS Academy.
Since its inception, the department has played a significant role in training
skilled healthcare professionals.

OBJECTIVES
- Theoretical
Proficiency: To provide a
comprehensive understanding of the morphology, physiology, and genetics of
bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites, including their role in human
health and disease.
- Diagnostic Mastery:
To train students in essential laboratory techniques, including specimen
collection, aseptic processing, staining, biochemical identification, and
automated culture methods.
- Clinical Safety
& Ethics: To instil rigorous
knowledge of laboratory safety protocols, sterilization, disinfection, and
biomedical waste management to ensure a secure clinical environment.
- Antimicrobial
Awareness: To develop expertise in
performing and interpreting antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST),
aiding in the effective treatment of infectious diseases and the
monitoring of drug resistance.
